Story
"A field of white, tied in marigold."

Palashi takes its name from the palash — the flame-of-the-forest — whose orange flowers open across the spring like small fires. We gave the name to this saree for its colour: a soft white cloth, tied and dyed all over in that same marigold-orange.
Description
Some sarees whisper and some shout. This one does a little of both — a quiet off-white ground, worked all over with bold marigold tie-dye you can't look away from.

Palashi is a mul cotton — soft, matte and light, the kind of cloth that drapes easy and wears cool through a long day. The pattern is shibori: the cloth is folded, tied and dyed, so the orange blooms in soft, cloudy shapes and no two are exactly alike. Solid orange borders frame the drape, an orange band runs the hem, and orange-and-white tassels finish the pallu.

It's the everyday cotton that refuses to be plain — bold enough for a festival morning, easy enough for any day you feel like wearing colour.

Shown here styled with a plain orange blouse and oxidised silver. No blouse piece is included.
