Olive Green Dhonekali Cotton Tant Saree | Pure Cotton | Awadhalaya
There is a saree for the wedding. There is a saree for the occasion.
There is a saree for the wedding. There is a saree for the occasion.
And then there is this one.
The saree you reach for on an ordinary Tuesday. The one that drapes in minutes and moves with you through a long day without once asking for your attention. The one that gets better — softer, more familiar — every time it meets water.
This is that saree.
Handwoven by artisans in the Dhonekali tradition of West Bengal's Hooghly district, this olive green tant is pure cotton from end to end. Its plain weave is deliberately airy — open enough to let air move through freely, light enough to forget you're wearing it. In India's warmest months, that is not a small thing.
The colour is olive — deep, earthy, grounded. Not bright green, not khaki. The green of old trees and still ponds. Fine chartreuse stripes run across the body, barely visible in flat light, catching warmth when the sun finds them. The border gathers these stripes into broader bands, finished at the pallu hem with hand-knotted chartreuse tassels — the quiet mark of something made with care.
Paired with a matching chartreuse collar-neck cotton blouse. The collar is modern. The fabric is the same breath of cotton. Together they make a complete look that needs nothing added.
Wear it to the office. Wear it to the market. Wear it on a long afternoon when you want to look dressed without feeling dressed.
Crafted in limited small-batch production. Once this batch is gone, restock is not guaranteed.
