Kanchan — Mustard-Gold Tissue Saree with Red Selvedge | Awadhalaya
Rs. 2,149.00
Gold, for the good days.
Kanchan is a mustard-gold tissue saree — warm, gold, with a metallic sheen and an all-over self-toned pattern running through the body.
At the edge sits a single thin red line: the only other colour in the saree, and the detail that gives all that gold a point to rest against.
-
FABRIC & FEEL
A tissue with a soft metallic sheen that shifts as the light moves across it. The drape is fluid and falls close to the body. -
BORDER & MOTIFS
The body carries an all-over self-toned pattern — the same gold, catching the light a little differently across the surface. A single fine red selvedge runs along the edge. -
PALLU
The pallu is the same mustard-gold, the thin red line following its edge, meant to fall softly without extra weight or stiffness. -
BEST WORN FOR
Pujas, festive evenings, receptions, and the celebrations of the season. -
STYLING
Styled here with oxidised silver — jhumka and stacked bangles — hair worn open, and a printed blouse to set off the gold. A gold or deep-red blouse keeps the look more tonal.
Blouse note: the printed blouse shown is styling only unless stated as included on this page. [Confirm blouse inclusion + material before publishing.] -
CARE
Dry clean recommended. Store folded in a soft cloth, away from damp and direct sun. Handle the sheen gently. -
WHY WE CHOSE THIS PRODUCT
Plenty of gold sarees are one flat sheet of gold. This one isn’t. The all-over self-toned pattern gives the surface something to do as the light moves, and the lone red selvedge stops it reading as a single uniform block of colour. Two small decisions — and together they give the gold some depth. -
